God's Gifts

When I look up at the sky Godís universe I see and I thank God in heaven for these eyes He gave to me.

When I hear the wind blow and singing birds so clear, I thank God in heaven my ears these things to hear.

When I feel a raindrop or smell a precious rose, I thank God for feelings and also for my nose!

With sight and sound and feel and smell Godís wonders I can tell; but, the greatest gifts I do behold are the wonders of my heart and soul.

August 30, 1965 Billy Graham hosted the Crusade for Christ in the new Astrodome in Houston. The best singers from local church choirs were chosen to be in his choir. I was one of the fortunate ones, one of four from my church. I was 23. To date 2022, I still have the sheet music from that crusade. How Great Thou Art was sung by George Beverly Shea at every crusade and and it became a major Gospel song in America and worldwide. Shea was born in 1909 and died at age 104 in 2013. In this video he is about 75. To listen to him sing click here Mr. Shea was laid to rest in a casket made by prisoners from Louisiana State Penitentiary (aka Angola). Click here for the story.
